Fatfat blames Hezbollah for presidential vacuum

NNA - Future bloc member, MP Ahmad Fatfat said in an interview with As-sharq radio station that the presidential dossier has been fully tied to the regional updates, mainly to what is happening in Syria and to the Iranian administration translated by Hezbollah.

Fatfat put the blame over the presidential vacuum on Hezbollah, saying the "Aouni movement's responsibility herein is secondary."

"The primary problem is not in the duality of Aoun and Frangieh's candidature, but in the political decision that sets whether or not Lebanon is allowed to have a president, and thus revive the State institutions, away from what is taking place in the region," Fatfat said.

"The French President's visit comes within the framework of his tour in the region. He came to Lebanon to say France has not abandoned Lebanon. His visit aims to relay a message that Lebanon is still an issue of concern for the major powers, mainly France and the European countries," Fatfat concluded.
