NNA - UNIFIL Commander, General Paolo Serra, said on Wednesday that all parties were committed to preserve peace and tranquility in the region and were willing to prevent the occurrence of incidents and tensions along the blue line.
General Serra, who chaired a regular tripartite military meeting at the headquarters of the UN force in Naqoura, also reported that Israel was forced to withdraw from northern Ghajar.
According to a statement issued by UNIFIL in the wake of the meeting, the meeting mainly focused on the situation along the Blue Line, the Israeli withdrawal from the northern part of Ghajar village and the implementation of International Security resolution 1701.
