NNA - Caretaker Foreign and Expatriates Minister, Adnan Mansour, strongly condemned the kidnapping of Archbishops Boulos Yazigi and Yuhanna Ibrahim, in the city of Aleppo, considering this kidnapping as a flagrant violation of religious, spiritual and moral values, and a blatant breach of co-existence, personal freedom and human rights.
Syriac Orthodox and Greek Orthodox archbishops, Boulos Yazigi and Yuhanna Ibrahim, were kidnapped in Aleppo yesterday [Monday].
"Archbishops' kidnapping falls in the framework of the terrorist act which aims at agitating sectarian and confessional strife within the peoples of the region.... in order to break up the one social fabric which has always been known through history as a model of tolerance, dialogue and coexistence," Mansour said in a statement.
Mansour stressed the need for united efforts by all to work for the sake of nipping sectarian strife, through thwarting attempts by terrorist extremist groups threatening the security of our communities, peace and stability.
