Damascus denies breaking into Arab Criminal Police Bureau

NNA - Syrian Interior Ministry denied in statement on Saturday recently circulated news of closing down Arab Criminal Police Bureau headquarters in Damascus.

"What was indicated in the Arab Interior Ministers' General Secretariat statement has no grounds of truth, and falls within the media campaign waged by the so-called Arab League, with hidden intentions to re-locate the Arab Criminal Police Bureau which has been in Syria ever since the year 1965," added the Syrian Interior Ministry Statement.
It further denied news of storming into said Bureau and tampering with its contents and intercepting its personnel.

The Syrian Interior Ministry Statement clarified that the Bureau has been closed in an attempt to preserve its possessions and documents; following decision by the Arab Internal Ministers' General Secretariat to transfer the Bureau duties.

Moreover, the Ministry assured that the Arab Bureau in Damascus receives its full attention and protection; especially that it has greatly contributed to its establishment, support and development.
