NNA - Deputy head of the Higher Islamic Shiite Council, Sheikh Abdel Amir Qabalan, congratulated Sunday newly designated PM Tammam Salam and urged all Lebanese factions to work with him in the formation of a national cabinet that could reconnect severed links between the Lebanese.
The unanimous vote for Salam was a positive sign of the deputies' will to work for consensus, according to Qabalan, and their keenness on holding parliamentary elections on time with a democratic spirit within safe and secure circumstances.
"We want public interest to be a national priority above all narrow private interests."
