NNA - "Liberation and Development" bloc member Deputy Michel Moussa stressed that his bloc would not run the upcoming elections based on the 1960 law.
"Maronite Patriarch Cardinal Mar Beshara Boutros Rai's message to Speaker of the House Nabih Berri has confirmed rejection of the 1960 law, the MP told the "Voice of Lebanon" radio on Thursday.
He added that Rai called on Berri to hold a parliamentary session to approve a new electoral law, but Berri gave some time to agree on a consensual bill.
Moussa stressed the need to agree on a new election law, pointing out that "issues were discussed by all parties and the stage today requires determination of options."
Concerning the new Prime Minister's name, he said that the name would remain secret because there are several options and issues that have not been resolved yet.
