Abi Ramia pins hope on Ein Teeneh consultations

NNA - Member of Parliament, Simon Abi Ramia, on Wednesday said that the cabinet formation process remained shrouded with ambiguity, however, he pinned high hopes on consultations being held to this end at Ein Teeneh.

"Vagueness spiraling [the cabinet formation process] shall fade by next Thursday, especially in light of consultations underway by between different political sides on the one hand, and the current ruling majority on the other," Abi Ramia said, disclosing that his bloc and its allies have nominated only one name for premiership.

Interviewed by LBCI TV, Abi Ramia stressed a number of constants which had been previously set by MP Michel Aoun such as refusal to extend the mandate of Parliament, refusal to render the nation in a state of void and ambiguity, and the necessity to form a political cabinet, "especially that experience has proven that there exist no impartial figures in Lebanon."

Moreover, the lawmaker said that the upcoming 48 hours were of paramount importance at the level of forming a new cabinet via intensive contacts by different sides.

"We fear that the main concern of some sides in the forthcoming cabinet is to place Hezbollah's head on the table," he said, warning that such an eventuality would only backfire and amplify the repercussions of the Syrian crisis on Lebanon.
