NNA - President of the Republic, Michel Sleiman, upped calls Tuesday upon Turkey to wield influence in order that the Lebanese pilgrims abducted in Syria last year should be released.
Sleiman's request came during his meeting today with Turkish Foreign Minister, Ahmet Davutoglu, on the sidelines of an Arab summit in the Qatari capital, Doha.
The pair reportedly discussed the Lebanese-Turkish bilateral relations and an array of affairs on common interest.
The President also demanded Turkey's assistance on the level of the massive influx of displaced Syrians into Lebanon.
He pointed out that he would call for holding an international meeting in that respect.
