Abi Ramia for a new PM selfdistant from sectarianism and electoral interests

NNA - Member of the "Change and Reform" Parliamentary Bloc, MP Simon Abi Ramia, considered that the upcoming period of parliamentary deliberations ought to yield a new Prime Minister capable of shouldering the responsibility of patching-up the security situation; in the wake of rising dangers of Palestinian Camps, increasing number of Syrian refugees and spreading of extremist movements. He hoped for a new PM who would manage to remain self-distant from sectarian acts, and not be tied down by electoral interests.

Abi Ramia pointed to his Bloc's reservations towards the outgoing government's performance from the start. However, his Bloc preferred to spare Lebanon from entering into a phase of governmental and security void, placing internal stability at the foremost of all concerns, Abi Ramia explained.

Furthermore, Abi Ramia noted that the timing of outgoing PM Mikati's resignation reflects an international wish to increase pressure on Hizbollah, the latter being considered as an extension of the Syrian-Iranian axis, he added.

Abi Ramia's words came during a television interview to "NTV" Channel on Sunday.
