NNA -The security situation in Tripoli is well under control, outgoing minister of the Interior Marwan Charbel told Voice of Lebanon morning talkshow today.



The minister allayed concerns to the effect that the city would never suffer from any security void and that security apparatuses in the field were doing their job perfectly well. They shall never forsake their duty by leaving the field to chances, he exclaimed.



Charbel reiterated that the president's insistence on setting up of a new electoral supervisory Body and Mikati's insistence on prolonging General Rifi's mandate were the twin reasons for the PM's resignation.
