NNA - Information Minister Walid Daouk on Tuesday said that media figures and reporters should not bear the blame for others in any confrontation.



Daouk's statements came today at the backdrop of the ongoing assaults against reporters, recently against Al Jadeed television channel media persons.



The Minister said reporters should not in any way be an object for irrational hostility whenever they perform their professional duty.



He called on security apparatuses to take actions, investigate the incident and punish culprits.



Daouk said the Lebanese ought to embrace their institutions, mainly the Lebanese army, so as to prevent sedition.



Addressing media institutions, he bore on them to recoil from sectarian conflict and effectively contribute to ward off strife phantom.



The Minister had contacted earlier Al-Jadeed Chairperson, Tahseen Khayyat, and voiced solidarity with the media.
