NNA - Former President Emile Lahoud Tuesday met at his residence in Yarze the Syrian Ambassador to Lebanon, Ali Abdel Karim Ali with talks touching on the latest developments in Lebanon and the region as well as on the Syrian updates.
Syria's Ambassador announced that the meeting was an opportunity to go over the situation in general.
"President Lahoud believes what is happening in Syria is the result of steps over which we had warned earlier, after the invasion of Iraq, the aggression on Lebanon in 2006, and the repeated targeting of the Palestinian cause and all the countries which support Palestine, on top of which Syria," he said.
Ali also noted that Syria was facing multiple forces as well as various weapons and intelligences from all over the world.
"The victory it achieved foiled the multiparty scheme that targets the role of Syria and its location, thus the Palestinian cause," the Ambassador noted.
Asked about the dialogue chances in Syria, Abdel Karim Ali said "the political solution is ultimately an inevitable result, especially after Syria's two years steadfastness and the cohesion of its army, amid threats to the region by key players who are behind this war on Syria, mainly USA and Europe."
