NNA - National News Agency Director, Laure Sleiman Saab, on Tuesday welcomed at her office in the Ministry of Information, the Undersecretary of the Libyan Ministry of Information, Haytham Kamouka.
The pair reportedly discussed the media relations between Lebanon and Libya and the means to bolster them.
"I would like to thank Mrs. Sleiman for her warm reception and the visit was good. I took note of the NNA work. It is obvious that the agency is working in an objective and professional way, when it comes to transmitting news. We do praise this work and we shall open the horizons of cooperation with the Agency," Kamouka said on emerging.
"The Libyan news agency is now being overhauled. It is working in a good way in three languages. Currently, we are seeking to develop it," he told reporters.
"Today's visit is a cordial one in order to open the doors of cooperation between Libya and Lebanon in the field of media and information. There will be further state visits and there will be a future cooperation," he said.
Asked about the situation now in Libya, the visitor indicated that there was tension in some regions, but that the situation in the capital and the key cities was "very excellent."
As to the condition of media in Libya, he said that there was some chaos in that respect due to the absence of a regulation.
But he indicated that a relevant law was now being drafted.
