NNA – Caretaker Minister of Public Works and Transport, Dr. Michel Najjar, on Thursday received German Ambassador to Lebanon, Andreas Kindl, at the head of a delegation comprising representatives of the  "Hamburg Port" consulting company, and other accompanying companies.

Discussions reportedly touched on the reconstruction of Beirut’s port and its suburbs and the establishment of a port with a transparent and independent management for better trade for Lebanon after the great damage caused by the recent August 4 blast.

The delegation briefed the Minister on the details of the project, which would secure about fifty thousand new job opportunities for young people through European and global investments, the matter which would contribute to the port's reconstruction and to strengthening its regional and international role.
