NNA - Caretaker Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants, Charbel Wehbe, on Thursday welcomed visiting Swiss Foreign Minister, Ignazio Cassis, who left without a giving a statement.


For his part, Minister Wehbe explained that his meeting with his Swiss counterpart mainly took stock of the Swiss view vis-à-vis a number of issues in the Middle East, such as human rights, freedom of information and expression, and the death penalty.


"The Swiss minister has praised the stances that have been taken by the Lebanese state through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and affirmed his country's keenness on preserving Lebanon's diversity, which distinguishes the Lebanese people," Wehbe added.
