Hajj Hassan: Contracts with cell phone companies expired on Dec 31, 2019

NNA - The Chair of Communications Parliamentary Committee, MP Hussein Hajj Hassan, on Tuesday said that the contracts with the two cell phone companies have expired on December 31, 2019, without any ordinary or extraordinary extension decision issued by the government.

He said in a statement: "The contracts stipulate that the [sector's] handover ought to take place within 60 days of the contract's expiry date, and this is what the committee recommended."

He also called for a meeting by the Committee upcoming Monday to discuss the sector's management restoration dossier, in the presence of Caretaker Minister of Telecommunications Mohammad Choucair.
