NNA - "It looks like we haven't learned from the amnesty laws approved after the war, which abolished the principle of accountability and opened doors to corruption," Caretaker Minister of Affairs and Emigrants, MP Gibran Bassil, said Sunday afternoon via his Twitter account.

He added: "People are calling today for all suspects to be brought to justice and that every perpetrator be held accountable by tightening penalties and adopting anti-corruption laws."

Bassil concluded his Tweet by stressing the need "to strengthen the judiciary," instead of consolidating the strength of crime through amnesty laws."
