Boustani inspects second drilling equipment shipment at Beirut Port

NNA - Caretaker Minister of Water & Energy, Nada Boustany, accompanied by a media delegation, inspected the containers of the second batch of equipment for oil drilling & exploration, sent by Total company.

,Boustani called for "keeping hope in this sector and abstaining from tarnishing its image leaving it clean," noting that another ship carrying equipment will arrive at the Port of Beirut tomorrow (Sunday). 

Boustani disclosed that the drilling of Lebanon’s first exploratory well for oil and gas will start upcoming December or January.

Total’s representative, who accompanied Boustani in her inspection tour, pointed out that "the exploration process will begin after the completion of the company's work in Egypt," stressing that he "did not detect any lack of transparency from the Lebanese government in this field."
