NNA - Iran has called for the "immediate stop" of the Turkish offensive in northern Syria. The Islamic Republic expresses its "concern" about the humanitarian consequences of the attack and calls for "an immediate halt to the attacks and the withdrawal of Turkish military units," the Foreign Ministry said in Tehran. Iran is a close ally of the Syrian ruler Bashar al-Assad, who had already sharply criticized the operation on Wednesday.--AFP
