NNA - The economic bodies chaired by Minister Mohammad Choucair held a meeting this Wednesday with Foreign Minister Gebran Bassil, focusing in their discussions on the recent economic, financial and social developments in Lebanon and the challenges ahead in the light of the 2020 budget.
Minister Choucair outlined the complexity of the economic, financial and social situation and the major problems affecting the private sector, lamenting the closure of more Lebanese companies due to the rising costs and the new taxes.
Minister Bassil told his hosts that Lebanon was able to break the deadlock by approving a series of reforms.
He recalled that Lebanon is currently in a stage of governance by the powerfull, which has established security and political stability in the country.
Referring to the seriousness of the economic and financial situation, he said that Lebanon is in a position to break the stalemate by approving a series of reforms involving the public and private sectors as well as the banking sector.
