NNA - Lebanese Forces MP Antoine Zahra on Thursday asserted that threats not to hand in ministerial portfolios were mere acts of rebellion by the current cabinet members.
"Once Prime Minister Najib Mikati hands the premiership to a new Prime Minister and Finance Minister Mohammad Safadi hands his portfolio to a new minister, then the remaining ministers will no longer enjoy any clout tools, but will render mere occupiers of their posts," Zahra said in an interview with Al-Jadeed T.V.
Moreover, the MP touted the formation of a "possible" cabinet, describing it as one that's void of partisans.
"It is impossible to gather all partisans in one cabinet under the prevailing circumstances," Zahra added.
He blasted what he described as Hezbollah's flurry of threats once the President and Prime Minister-designate launch an initiative to form a cabinet that's not loyal to Hezbollah.
"There is nothing such as a national unity cabinet as long as Hezbollah proves nonchalance to the law, constitution, consensus, and state sovereignty," Zahra added, censuring Hezbollah's cruel responses whenever asked to recalculate its involvement in the Syrian crisis.
