NNA - Prime Minister Najib Mikati, denounced the assassination of former Minister Mohammed Shatah.
"We condemn this assassination, which targeted a political and moderate figure who believed in dialogue, the language of reason and logic and the right to have different opinions," the PM stressed.
He added that the sorrows that afflict our nation should halt and the Lebanese people should enjoy peace and confidence.
It is worth to note, that Mikati will return to Lebanon to follow up developments.
The PM consulted with the President of the Republic Michel Sleiman over the telephone concerning the developments and steps to be taken.
He also gave instructions for an immediate meeting of the Supreme National Commission for Disaster Management.
