NNA - President Michel Sleiman on Monday expressed strong disapproval of the terrorist and criminal act which targeted two army checkpoints in South Lebanon's Majdelyoun and Al Awwali Bridge, causing the martyrdom of one Lebanese army sergeant and injury of others.
Sleiman is pursuing the case with concerned officials and stressing the need to adopt necessary measures to combat terrorism.
The President urged Lebanese to unite and face this scourge that, in his words, "does not combine with the natures and the core of the Lebanese entity's philosophy."
Sleiman contacted Defense Minister and the Lebanese Army Command to pursue the adopted means to preserve sovereignty in face of the Israeli threats and implement Resolution 1701.
