NNA - Member of Parliament, Alain Aoun, on Monday condemned last night's attacks on Lebanese Army checkpoints in the Southern city of Sidon.
Lebanese Army sergeant, Samer Rizk, was shot dead after gunmen in a silver Range Rover attacked an Army post in the Awali region of Sidon.
The gunmen attempted to throw a hand grenade at the soldiers after they asked the driver to pull over. The grenade, however, exploded before being tossed at the soldiers, instantly killing the gunman and wounding several soldiers stationed at the post.
"The indicators are not reassuring," the lawmaker warned in an interview with Radio Lebanon, pointing to some subversive terror cells awaiting a sign to attack the Army and a group of Lebanese.
