NNA – In the framework of preparations underway for the Summer 2019 Program, the Cedar International Festivals Commitee Chair, MP Strida Geagea, pursued her meetings in Maarab today, where she conferred with the Head of the Higher National Conservatory of Music, Bassam Saba, in the presence of the committee members.

Discussions touched on the organizational details related to the event, including the program and the number of rehearsals to be performed by the musicians before the festival's commencement.

"This meeting comes as part of the preparations and necessary logistics required by the Cedar International Festival, which this year has a human and a humanitarian dimension," a statement following the meeting said.

In light of MP Geagea's insistence on giving the festival a Lebanese national dimension, and an artistic and cultural image that reflects the Lebanese capabilities that are no less important than those abroad, the anticipated concert by World Tenor Andrea Bocelli on June 29th will feature about 70 musicians from the Lebanese Philharmonic Orchestra affiliated to the National Institute of Music - Conservatoire, and 60 vocalists and members of the choir of the University of “Our Lady of Loueizeh”, which is celebrating its silver jubilee this year, led by the World Maestro Marcello Ruta.

Conferees agreed to continue their follow-up meetings in preparation for this remarkable event that portrays Lebanon's civilized and cultural facets.
