Retired servicemen take to the streets to protest salary cut

NNA - Retired servicemen took to the streets and gathered at al-Bass roundabout in Tyre, in protest at a proposal to cut their wages and pensions, National News Agency correspondent reported Tuesday.

Protestors next headed to Zahrani to join their fellows from Nabatieh, Bint Jbeil and Hasbaya.

In Mount Lebanon, a group of citizens had set tires ablaze at the international highway of Aley.


In Nehme, the international highway has been closed after citizens set tires on fire causing traffic jam in the locality, as reported by the Traffic Management Center.

In Bekaa, the TMC indicated that protesters had blocked the Chtaura-Dahr-al-Baidar highway at the bifurcation leading to Qob Elias.
