Abdullah II, Abbas affirm support to Kerry's efforts to push peace process forward

NNA - Jordan's King Abdullah II and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas on Thursday discussed during a phone call "the latest developments in the region, especially with regard to peace efforts based on a two-state solution."

Both sides stressed support for the efforts of U.S. Secretary of State, John Kerry, to activate the peace process between Israel and the Palestinians, and realize rapprochement in views during negotiations on all final status issues, a statement by the Jordanian Royal Divan said.

King Abdullah voiced Jordan's full support to efforts seeking a peace that meets the aspirations of the Palestinian people in establishing their independent, viable state on the lines of June 4th, 1967.

It is to note that Kerry arrives this evening in Israel, on a new round of tour- for the second time within one week- to push the stalled peace talks between Israel and the Palestinians.
