NNA - "Future" Parliamentary Bloc Member, Deputy Ahmad Fatfat, considered Sunday that Tripoli is in need of both security and political cover, in the wake of recent developments.
"The problem is not between the people of the city and the Lebanese Amy, but rather lies between citizens and some Army officers, especially Army Intelligence," added Fatfat, speaking in an interview to "MTV" Channel.
Fatfat stressed on full respect to the military institution, which is greatly needed at the current stage, so that security can be fully controlled in the city.
However, Fatfat noted that a significant problem associated with justice still exists, whereby the latter has unveiled the perpetrators of the twin-bombings attack in Tripoli, but certain political parties are attempting to protect the criminals from prosecution.
Fatfat urged the Lebanese Army to continue in its efforts to ensure the Tripoli's tranquility, in a prevailing atmosphere of justice and fairness.
Over the new government issue, Fatfat indicated that Saudi Arabia has no connection with the "9-9-6" cabinet formula, which is currently being debated. He reiterated that if a "9-9-6" cabinet formula were to exist, even under former PM Saad Hariri, he would not grant it his vote of confidence, "for such a formula denotes an invasion of Beirut," stated Fatfat.
