NNA - The Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned in a statement this Friday "The ugly terrorist crime that took place in New Zealand in a mosque where worshipers believed it was a safe haven and a sanctuary for prayer and tolerance."

The statement stressed that "the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants Gebran Bassil had previously warned of the escalation of the extreme right in Western societies for several reasons, as he warns today against the rise of leftist radicalism, putting communities at great risk. A direct confrontation will only lead to the scourge of war. Lebanon remains a country of moderation and tolerance and a model in this world filled with radical ideas. Preserve it as a model for coexistence between religions and cultures."
