Jabaq meets Lazzarini, tackled cooperation prospects with Najari

NNA - Minister of Public Health, Jamil Jabaq, welcomed UN Special Coordinator for Lebanon, Philippe Lazzarini, with whom he discussed cooperation between the Ministry of Public Health and all the UN institutions in Lebanon.

The meeting featured a confirmation on the continuation of support to the activities of the MoPH and the follow up on the programs of donor countries related to the health sector.

"The visit was an occasion to reaffirm the United Nations' upholding for health activities in Lebanon," Lazzarini said, confirming support to "the Lebanese health system to contribute to meeting the existing large needs and helping the country bear the burden of refugees."

Among the visitors of Minister Jabaq was the Egyptian Ambassador to Lebanon, Nazih Najari, who drew attention to the importance of economic cooperation between the two countries, especially in the field of medicine.
He also wished to review the hospitalization systems related to the Egyptian community in Lebanon and the possibility of developing them and paying attention to the health conditions of Egyptian nationals.

Jabaq also welcomed the Director General of UNRWA in Lebanon, Claudio Cordrone, at the head of a delegation from the Agency.

Discussions dealt with "cooperation between the two sides to ensure that the Palestinians in Lebanon receive the health, medical and hospital care they need."
