NNA - Head of the Islamic Shiite Council, Sheikh Abdul Amir Kabalan, received this Wednesday at the Council's headquarters the French Ambassador to Lebanon, Bruno Foucher, with talks touching on means of enhancing bilateral relations and the latest developments in Lebanon and the region.
Kabalan welcomed the French ambassador, saying the council "is keen on activating ties with the French government and people."
"We do not forget the support of the French government and people and their contributions to Lebanon," he said, thanking France for "standing by the Lebanese people in trying times, and working to keep Lebanon stable and enjoying the support of its friends and brothers."
He stressed that "all Lebanese regions should have development and investment projects because we want deprived areas to flourish."
"Lebanon is recovering after the formation of the new government, which we hope will reflect its work in projects and plans that promote the national economy and give priority to addressing the social and living crises," Kabalan said.
