Mikati calls for joint Arab Iranian dialogue to prevent strife

NNA - Outgoing Prime Minister , Najib Mikati, said on Friday that the Iranian- West agreement constitutes an important turn to set grounds for peace and to solve the Palestinian crisis, hoping that the agreement would be completed by an Arab-Iranian dialogue that preserves rights and prevents strife.

Mikati's words came during a celebration held to mark the "The International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People" at the United Nations premises in Riad El-Solh Street, Beirut.

Mikati confirmed that fighting should only be against the Israeli enemy; otherwise, it would be "in the interest of this enemy who finds comfort in our fighting".

The Premier praised the Palestinian leaders for dissossiating themselves from the incidents in Syria and Lebanon, pointing out that "Lebanon decided from the beginning of the Syrian crisis to open its doors to all oppressed people in Syria without differentiating between a Syrian and a Palestinian and performed its duties to set an example to the world on how humans should deal with each other."

He added "the world is requested nowadays to support Lebanon on all levels and to put an end to the fighting and violence in Syria through a political process that the Syrians agree on."

Mikati said that no peace can be achieved except through guarantying the right of returned to all Palestinians, assuring that the Lebanese and the Palestinians agreed to unify efforts to the return to Palestine and prevent resettlement.

"The core of peace is to have the Palestinians live in Palestine based on the International Resolutions, and every attempt to breach these resolutions increases crisis in the Middle east and the world," Mikati said , adding that allowing the enemy not to abide by the International Resolutions and fail to implement them confirmed that the International justice used double standards.

Mikati wished the Lebanese would benefit from the regional changes to bridge the gap among the different Lebanese components and start dialogue away from terms and rejections.

Mikati stressed the importance of dialogue at this critical stage, condemning the recent explosions which were a clear indication of the dangers that surrounded the country.

"No peace, no stability, no security, no justice, no freedom, and no democracy would be complete without Palestine, fair peace won't be achieved except via Palestine," Mikati confirmed.
