Abadi from Bkirky: Resolving Iran's nuclear
file to affect Lebanon positively

NNA - Maronite Patriarch, Cardinal Beshara Rahi, convened in Bkirky with Iranian Ambassador to Lebanon Ghazanfar Roknabadi, who assured the Cardinal that the Islamic Republic is highly interested in keeping the stability and unity of the Lebanese, adding that solving Iran's nuclear file would have positive effects especially on Lebanon.



The ambassador briefed Rahi on the latest developments in the Iranian nuclear issue after Geneva I talks between Iran and the P5+1. They also discussed the general situation in Lebanon and the region. Abadi also lauded the Patriarch whose positive stances affect the country as well as Lebanese - Iranian relations positively.

"The Islamic Republic of Iran is interested in further cooperation between the two countries in various fields, especially during these times," the ambassador told the press following the meeting.


"Reaching an agreement between Iran and the P5+1in relation to the nuclear issue will have a positive impact on the international level in general and Lebanon in particular."
Abadi added that he reviewed the subject of US - Iranian relations and the West in general with Rahi.

"We also asserted that Iran stands by Lebanon and all the Lebanese of various sects and creeds, and will do its utmost to serve and strengthen this unity to maintain stability and security in Lebanon."

This meeting would be followed by many others, according to Abadi, who re-extended an official invite to Rahi to visit Iran.
