NNA - Maronite Patriarch Cardinal Mar Beshara Boutros Rahi met Monday at Bkerki with Kataeb lawmaker Sami Gemayel over the current general situation prevailing in the country.



Both reportedly agreed to re-launch the wide-ranging communication movement among the Lebanese parties to reach a loophole to the current gridlock.



Speaking to reporters following the meeting, Gemyal maintained that Baabda Declaration was still the key to the sought solution.


"It is an official text that was sent to the United Nations and the Arab League. It enjoys the consent of the Lebanese and the key to a solution is the return to Baabda Declaration," he said.



He also said that it was about time to revive the legislative polls law issue.


"The elections law is still the basis to us. It is the prelude to energizing institutions, because this law entails [holding] elections, which in turn entail [forming] the government, which in turn entails the return of the institutions' work," he explained.



"There is a document that all the Lebanese agreed upon, which is Baabda Declaration," he concluded.
